Two of Hastings’ most popular visitor attractions, Smugglers Adventure and Hastings Castle, have now closed for winter and will be re-opening next year on February 10th 2018, in time for half term.
The close, which takes place every year, allows for general maintenance and refurbishment to take place whilst the seasonal town of Hastings has its quieter months.
Marketing Executive Leanna Lawson said: “Both attractions have had a bumper year, with many events taking place, like the Petting Zoo and Teddy Bear’s Picnic, Dragon Day and an Easter Egg Hunt at Hastings Castle.
“Smugglers Adventure also hosted a zombie fright night, sea shanty singers and we will be working hard behind the scenes over the winter period to finalise a jam-packed events calendar for 2018,” she added.
Sister attraction, Blue Reef Aquarium, based in Hastings old town, remains open all year round apart from Christmas Day and takes visitors on an undersea voyage from the drama of the British coastline to the spectacular ‘underwater gardens’ of the Mediterranean and the dazzling beauty of exotic tropical reefs.
Highlights include the open top ray tank showcasing local species and the spectacular ocean reef display, complete with its own 15-metre-long underwater walkthrough tunnel.
